TEENAGER Gillian Matthew came to intu Braehead for a shopping trip - and left on her way to becoming a top model. Gillian was spotted by scouts for the Elite Model Look UK 2012 competition in the mall in May last year and went on to become the national contest's female winner.

Since then the 17-year-old has been signed by Elite Model Management and has modelled for Mulberry, in London Fashion Week and on catwalks in Shanghai and New York.

Now another aspiring model could follow in Gillian's footsteps tomorrow (Fri) and Saturday and make a career for themselves in the fashion world, just by coming to intu Braehead.

The search for the winner of the Elite Model Look UK Competition 2013, with Colgate MaxWhite ONE as the official partner returns to the shopping centre on Friday and Saturday, May 31 and June 1 between noon and 6pm.

Elite Model Look UK scouts will be in the mall looking for would-be male and female models to take part in the UK final of the competition.

Judges will pick one female and one male winner on finals night, who will both be offered three-year Elite Model Management contracts.

The female will also get the chance to take part in the Elite Model Look World Final. One lucky finalist will also win the chance to be the new face of Colgate MaxWhite ONE for its next advertising campaign.

This prestigious model search has launched the careers of Cindy Crawford, Gisele Bundchen and Sigrid Agren.

Intu Braehead's marketing manager, Lydia Brown said: "This is a fantastic opportunity for someone to follow in Gillian's footsteps and make a name for themselves in the fashion world."
