The car was  found later in the Jordanhill area at the scene of another housebreaking.

The night before a silver Seat Leon was taken at about 3.30am when crooks stole keys from a house in Dakota Way.

Police say the householder was disturbed by the noise of a barking dog before discovering the keys from the back door were missing, along with car keys which were attached to the same keyring.

Police at Johnstone are reminding members of the public to ensure keys are securely kept out of view and windows are closed.

Car thieves also made off with a 'Y' registration plate dark blue Vauxhall Frontera jeep at around 4.35pm on Friday, February 5.

It was stolen from a residential carpark in Rannoch Drive by a man who activated the car alarm during the theft.
