Detectives are continuing enquiries following a disturbance involving a group of men in Paisley on Tuesday, May 17.

Around 9.20pm, police received a report that a group of six men were fighting in Tannahill Terrace in Paisley. As a result, three men sustained serious injuries, including stab wounds.

Three men were taken to the Royal Alexandra Hospital. Two men, aged 40, remain in hospital and a 47 year old man was released following treatment.

Enquiries so far have revealed that the men are known to one another, however the motive for the clash remains unclear.

The suspects are described as white, aged between 25 and 50, and one man was wearing a red jacket. Following the altercation the suspects got into a blue coloured Vauxhall Corsa and drove off.

Officers are gathering CCTV from in and around the local area in an effort to gain more detail on the suspects.

Detective Inspector Sandy Nelson said: “It would still have been light when this incident occurred and I’m sure that people in the community will have seen and heard the disturbance.

"Whilst we believe the men were known to one another it’s imperative we trace the suspects involved in this attack.

"I am asking local people to contact us and pass on any information, any detail no matter how minor, could prove significant in our investigation.”

Anyone with any information is asked to contact CID officers at Paisley Police Office on 101. Alternatively, please call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where you can give your information anonymously.
