A VILE mum who attacked her son, threatened to kill him and branded him an “animal” – after he soiled himself due to a medical condition – has walked free from court unpunished.

The 29-year-old – who can’t be identified for legal reasons – made the sickening comments to the six-year-old while looking after him at her home in Paisley.

The incident took place within her home in the town’s Montgomery Road on April 1 last year.

Paisley Sheriff Court heard previously that the mum lost her temper with the primary school child after he had an accident due to his medical problem.

She was due to go on trial over the claims but struck a deal with prosecutors which saw her plead guilty to reduced charges.

She pleaded guilty to a charge of assaulting the child by slapping him once on the body.

Claims that she had rained several blows on his head and body, leaving him injured, were deleted from the charge.

She also admitted a second charge of shouting and swearing and acting aggressively towards the youngster.

Prosecutor Joanne Gilmour said: “The accused smacked the child once on the bottom.

“She also called him ‘a f****** animal’ and said, ‘you’ll be lucky to see 10’.”

A neighbour overheard her shouting and swearing at the little boy and called the police, who arrived at the property to investigate.

She was arrested over the incident and, when cautioned and charged with assaulting the boy, she said: “I smacked him on his bum with his clothes on.”

The court heard she had lost her temper with the boy because he refused to go to the toilet in front of her as he was so embarrassed he had soiled himself.  She admitted her guilt last year and sentence was deferred for six months to be of good behaviour. When she returned to the dock this week to learn her fate, she was admonished by Sheriff Robert Fife - meaning she receives no punishment for her shameful actions.
