RALSTON Community Council had a resounding success with their community games event 'Ralston does Rio'.
The event, which is Paisley’s answer to the Olympic Games, was organised by members of the community council and has been running for the past four years.
Games like foot-races, tug of war and limbo dancing were all on offer at the weekend.
There were also performers and musical acts organised for the event.
Rebecca Kowalski, one of the organisers and a member of Ralston Community Council, said: "We started it in 2012 when the Olympic Games came to the UK.
"A few council members and I were talking about doing something fun for the community that would get everyone out having fun and we came up with the Ralston Community Gala."
Rebecca’s role within the council is to apply for funding as well as organising the entertainment for the event.
There is always help on hand however, this time it came in the form of fellow Community Council member Susan McDonald, a former Scottish international running star, along with many other members of the council.
Support was provided on the day by members of the Scouts and St Mark’s Oldhall Church, who helped manage various stalls and shows over the course of the day.
There was something for everyone to get into at the event, whether it was sports, dancing or just enjoying the atmosphere.
Rebecca added: "It’s always good to get people out and socialising and there’s something for everyone at the games."
