AN OAP has shown you are never too old to rock out to your favourite jam.

This pensioner gave Angus Young a run for his money when she started strutting her stuff along the High Street at an outdoor gig for the Paisley Spree festival.

The elderly lady leapt to life during Paisley band Badboy's performance of AC/DC classic Highway to Hell, on Saturday, October 15 during the opening weekend of the arts and music festival.

After passing by with bags of shopping placed on her trolly handles, the veteran rock chick clearly couldn't resist the electrifying guitar riff.

As if 'Thunderstruck' she began hot footing her way through the street, slapping her thigh and swaying her hips to the beat.

Her air guitar skills were off the scale which resulted in a roaring applause from her fans which she relished while throwing her hands in the air triumphantly.

Badboys bassist and singer, Billy Kinnear, 46, said: "We usually finish the set with Highway to Hell, it always goes down well with any crowd that we play to.

"During the song we noticed that the crowd were looking over to our left and then we saw her.

"She was amazing and we couldn't believe the moves that she was coming away with.

"We were all shouting from the stage, 'look at her, she's awesome!'

"She stole the show and it made our day and everyone else's.

"As we say in Badboys, 'you're as old as you rock', and boy, can she rock.

"With moves like that, she must have been a rocker back in the day, we'd love to know the gigs that she's been to.

"It was such a great buzz playing at The Spree.

"Having a wide age group listening to our set was really inspiring for us and Paisley; we had toddlers dancing in front of stage and then our rawkin gran - it was amazing."

Rock and roll granny - we salute you.

The Spree, Paisley's music, arts and comedy festival will take place until October 22 as part of the push towards Paisley’s bid for UK City of Culture 2021.
