TERRIFIED staff at a Paisley shop were held up by armed thieves, who made away with a three figure sum of cash.

The robbery took place at the Family Shopper store in Causeyside Street on Sunday, October 16 at 8.10pm.

A man armed with a weapon entered the store where he threatened staff before making off with the money.

He was also in the company of another man who held the shop door open for him.

Both ran off towards the Gordon Street area of Paisley.

The first man is described as in his early 20s, around 5ft8 and with dark brown hair.

He was wearing a black body warmer with a grey hood over a green pilot style jacket and dark grey jogging bottoms.

The man holding the door open was around 6ft tall and wore dark clothing with the hood up.

Detective Constable Raymond Brownlow from Paisley CID said: "Thankfully nobody was injured during this incident but it was still very frightening for those in the store at the time.

"I would like to speak to anyone who may have seen two men matching these descriptions in the surrounding area last night.

"Anyone with information is asked to contact officers at Paisley CID via 101 or alternatively you can call CRIMESTOPPERS on 0800 555 111 where details can be given in confidence."
