A MAN is appealing to the public to help him catch the person who graffitied his home in Erskine.

Vandals targeted his house in Johnshaven, scrawling across his door and side of his recently fixed house, causing £200 worth of damage.

The poor quality paint job could have taken place any time between October 2 at 8.30pm and October 5 at 5.30am.

The man is so determined to catch the culprits he is even offering a £50 reward if the person or persons responsible is caught.

He said: "I had gone out to post a letter and when I returned I noticed the door and wall of my house was covered in graffiti.

"I only just got the house resurfaced. It's a horrible scrawl and looks a mess so I am offering a reward to help find who is responsible.

"It's hard walking by people's doors in my street, whose owners could potentially be behind it.

"I will give £50 cash if the person behind it has been caught – I won't let this lie and want to see action taken against this person."

Inspector Cassie Glass is appealing for anyone who may have information, or has experienced similar vandalism to get in touch.

She said: "There was black paint on the door and along the side of the house in Johnshaven, causing around £200 worth of damage.

"The vandalism could have taken place between October 2 and October 5, as the man does not often use this door of his house.

"We attended and noted a crime report, then carried out house to house enquiries with neighbours.

"Enquiries are still ongoing at the moment.

"We have had a lot of minor anti social behaviour in the area recently and think it could be kids.

"We encourage anyone else who has similar graffiti to get in contact with us."

Anyone who may have further information is asked to contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
