GAS cylinders have caused a small explosion in Renfrew this morning.
Reports of a loud bang and smoke from a scrapyard at around 9.40am - which could be heard as far as Clydebank - resulted in a police helicopter and vehicle being deployed.
Police confirmed it was an accidental explosion caused by the cylinders being crushed in the yard.
There are no reported injuries.
