THERE was festive fun galore as Accord Hospice staged its annual Christmas fair.

Paisley Town Hall was the venue for the event, which attracted thousands of people.

There was something for everyone to enjoy, with Santa keeping the children entertained and the grown-ups able to go bargain hunting or relax with a cuppa.

A host of stalls were there to provide all sorts of seasonal goodies and, outside, youngsters lapped up the chance to climb aboard some fairground rides.

Further entertainment was provided by members of the Rockus Community Choir and the Academy Scotland dance school.

Among the visitors was Paisley and Renfrewshire North MP Gavin Newlands, who brought his daughters Eilidh and Emma with him.

And there was a special appearance by one of the model lions that formed part of a hugely-successful cultural trail in Paisley town centre earlier this year.

Ken Mathie, head of income generation at the Paisley hospice, said: “We raised a whopping £14,500 on the day and we are still counting the money.

“We want to thank everyone who took part and made the fair such a great success. A lot of people have put a lot of effort into this event, which raises vital funds for the hospice.

“We plan to have a very short rest after Christmas and then we will start work on our summer fair.”
