A FUN-LOVING fundraiser is taking the lead in an effort to coin in cash for a charity that finds new homes for rescued greyhounds.

Lesley Roberts, who is head fundraiser for Royalheart Greyhound Rescue, will be joined by a rescued pooch as she takes part in a Santa Dash on Sunday, December 18.

And, in a break from the norm, it will be the dog who is dressed up like Santa – while Lesley will be wearing a dog costume.

She said: “I am keen to raise funds to allow more dogs to be saved and, if anyone can help, I would appreciate it greatly.”

Bishopton florist Reid’s is among those supporting Langbank-based Royalheart Greyhound Rescue.

It has donated £200, which was raised through donations from customers.

As well as extra funds, the charity is on the lookout for volunteer dog walkers and more foster homes for rescued pooches.

All dogs rehomed by Royalheart Greyhound Rescue will be neutered and microchipped prior to adoption.

Donations of bedding, dog food, collars and leads will also be gratefully accepted.

If you would like to sponsor Lesley as she tackles the Santa Dash in Greenock or you are in a position to help the charity in another way, call her on 0745 008 7170.
