POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a man was jumped by two thugs.

The 32-year-old was walking along Renfrew Road near to Reid Kerr College on Sunday, January 15 at 8.45pm.

He became involved in an argument with two men, who he was unable to describe.

After walking away from the pair, he headed in the direction of the Pure Gym car park where an unidentified vehicle pulled up next to him.

A man and woman got out of the car and began to punch and kick him.

He was taken to the Royal Alexandra Hospital, where he has since been released, receiving five staples into his head.

Detective inspector Sandy Nelson, who is based at Paisley police station said: "A 32-year-old was attacked by a man and woman at the Pure Gym car park.

"He received lacerations to his head as a result of being punched and kicked.

"There is no description of the man and woman who came out of the car, or the two men he met before the incident.

"We are currently looking at CCTV and carrying out door to door enquiries.

"Although it was dark at the time, the area was well lit as there are street lights along the road.

"There would have been cars and people passing at that time so we urge anyone who may have seen anything to come forward with any information."
