DOZENS of little ones had a ball as they enjoyed some family fun at Inchinnan Parish Church.

Mums, dads, grannies and grandpas were all invited to join the children for the Messy Church event, which uses the themes of creativity, celebration and hospitality to bring people together.

The sessions, which are suitable for people of all ages, are aimed at those who aren’t already church members.

Typically, Messy Church involves a short celebration story, prayer, song and games, with each session ending with a sit-down meal.

And there was lots of laughter at the Inchinnan event, which proved to be a relaxing and enjoyable time for the whole family.

Kenny Galbraith, who helps to co-ordinate events at Inchinnan Parish Church, in Old Greenock Road, was pleased with the turnout.

He said: “Messy Church isn’t like your typical church service. It is much more chilled.

“It is also suitable for all ages, which means families can come along to spend time with their children.

“It was fantastic that so many people came along to take part. Everyone seemed to have a good time.”

The sessions take place at Inchinnan Parish Church on the first Saturday of each month, from 4pm to 6pm.

And Kenny is hoping to see some new faces at their next event.

He said: “Everyone is welcome to come along, regardless of whether they belong to the church or not.

“Together, everyone can learn about faith and follow this up by enjoying a meal together.”
