A PAISLEY history buff who is keen to promote the town is confident that Buddies will fall in love with his Valentines events.

Les Fernie is hosting his popular Walking Tours on Wheels with a Valentine’s theme on Saturday, February 18 at 7pm.

Guests will meet at the Tannahill Cottage where they can enjoy an evening of songs, entertainment and poetry recitals from Renfrewshire artists and writers.

Les will also be donning his love heart costume and spreading the Valentines joy in the town centre throughout the week.

Everyone is welcome to get a photo with the Love Buddie who will be milling around the town centre during the day.

Special guests for the Valentines Evening of Music Song and Poetry include Pauline Valance, Tracy Patrick, George McCallum, Graham Fulton and Betty McKellar

Pauline will play and sing Tannahill and Burns compositions on her harp.

Folk artist George will perform singalong guitar songs while there will be poem recitals from Tracy and Graham.

Lochwinnoch poet Betty’s work is inspired by the wildlife of the area which is demonstrated in her book Poetry Tails Around Lochwinnoch.

Every Buddie will be greeted by actors dressed as Robert Tannahill and Rabbie Burns who will welcome everyone into the cottage”

The Valentine’s Evening of Music Song and Poetry is open to the public and tickets are priced at £5 each, which includes a buffet and entertainment.

Tickets are limited and will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis.
