SCOTTISH Water has restored normal water supplies to most affected properties following a burst water main in Paisley.

Engineers working round the clock in challenging weather conditions have repaired a burst 24 inch water main in Brediland Road and have restored normal supplies to most of the affected customers in the Corsebar area and parts of the Brediland area of the town.

However, we are advising customers in a small number of streets such as Lochinver Crescent, Lochaline Avenue and part of Brediland Road that they might continue to experience disruption as we work to restore normal supplies to them following the burst.

Engineers worked to repair the burst as quickly as possible and did so earlier this morning, enabling us to restore normal supplies to affected properties in the Corsebar area and part of the Brediland area.

They will continue to work to restore normal supplies to all affected properties as soon as possible but we are advising that some properties in the streets mentioned might continue to experience loss of normal supply, poor water pressure or discoloured water.

In the meantime, Scottish Water will continue to tanker water in to the local network to minimise disruption.

A Scottish Water spokesman said staff were continuing to work as quickly as possible, in challenging conditions, to restore water supplies to the relatively small number of remaining affected properties.

He said: “Our squad has been on the scene since late last night working in difficult weather conditions to repair what is a complex burst on a major water main.

“We have done that and have been able to restore supplies to most affected customers. We will continue to work to restore normal supplies to the remaining affected customers as quickly as possible.”

“We apologise to affected customers for the disruption and thank them for their patience and understanding.”
