MORE than 400 people gathered for a special celebration to mark the success of the Scouting movement.

The event included music and dancing from talented youngsters, with a number of awards handed out on the night.

It was a chance to highlight how Scouting is transforming the lives of young people and adults across Paisley, Barrhead and Neilston.

The celebration was planned by district youth commissioner Fraser Robertson, along with Explorer Scout Monica McFarlane, and took place at St Andrew’s Academy, in Paisley.

As well as Scouts, the audience included their parents and supporters.

Also in attendance were Renfrewshire Provost Anne Hall, district commissioner Rob Murray and regional commissioner Stephen Allan, who were on hand to present awards.

Mr Murray said: “What a fantastic year of Scouting we have had across Paisley, Barrhead and Neilston.

“This is a result of our incredible adult volunteers, who deliver a balanced programme of life-changing adventures to girls and boys aged from six to 25.”
