POLICE are warning Elderslie householders to be on their guard for bogus workmen.

On Saturday, March 11 a resident reported a man who he had employed to complete work on his patio.

He was unhappy with the standard of the work that had been carried out which he paid over £3,000 for.

Officers are urging residents to avoid getting work done by those who come to their doorstep unannounced.

Chief inspector Simon Wright said: “We are currently investigating an incident in Elderslie.

“We recommend that residents seek advice or recommendations from friends or family to complete work so that it is carried to a suitable standard.

“If anyone suspects a bogus workman coming to their door, please contact police on 101.”
