LOLLIPOP man Finlay Munro took charge of his final crossing back in 2003.

After five years patrolling the streets around St Fillan’s Primary, in Houston, Finlay was finally able to enjoy a lie-in.

Pupils said a fond farewell at a party in the school.

Finlay, who lived in Johnstone, had to comply with council regulations by stepping down from his post after reaching his 70th birthday.

He was presented with a host of gifts from the school.

Headteacher Christine Doherty said: “We are all very sad to see Finlay go as he is a lovely man.”
