ST MIRREN fans will be raising a glass to their team as Paisley Beer Festival celebrates its 30th anniversary.

The real ale festival was first held in 1987, the year the Buddies celebrated their Scottish Cup win.

More than 300 ales, beers, ciders and wines from Scotland, the UK and abroad will be on sale at Paisley Town Hall when the four-day festival gets underway on April 22.

The free outdoor event will showcase the breadth of Scotland’s vibrant street food scene including gourmet lamb burgers and outdoor reared pork and apple burgers from The Kitchen Farmer from Duntarrin Farm in Argyll.

Sweet tooths will be well catered for with French patisseries from les Plaisirs d’Odette and artisan crème brûlée from Crema Caravan among the traders.

There will also be live cookery demonstrations from Masterchef winner, Gary Mclean with craft beers, small batch gins and Prosecco on tap.

There will also be a fermentation workshop on how to make your own healthy ginger beer from Bottle of Ginger,

The Voice UK finalists, Into the Ark, are scheduled to perform and CBeebies presenter Katy Ashworth will keep the children entertained with sing-a-long songs, games and stories.
