SOME cracking family fun will be taking place in Paisley town centre this weekend as the Easter bunny makes a special appearance.

Little ones can find all the eggs that the bunny has hidden, track down the golden egg and get an extra special prize.

The Easter fun will take place on Saturday, April 15 at 11.45am, where the Paisley Easter bunny will meet guests in the gardens.

On the stroke of 12 noon the ribbon will be cut and the kids will make a dash to find the hidden eggs.

Tickets cost £3 and can be purchased from the Walking Tours on Wheels office at 39 High Street in Paisley.

It’s showtime

MEMBERS of Johnstone Phoenix Theatre Group are gearing up for their next performance.

Whisky Galore, A Musical will take place at Johnstone Town Hall from Wednesday, April 26, to Saturday, April 29.

Doors open at 7pm, with the curtain up at 7.30pm.

There will also be a Saturday matinee performance, starting at 2pm.

Adult tickets cost £13, while concessions are £10.

Gifts galore

STALLHOLDERS are being sought for a gift and craft fair in Bishopton.

The event will be based at the Bishopton Sports and Social Club, in Holmpark, and takes place on Sunday, May 21.

Fun day

A FAMILY fun day and afternoon tea will take place in Erskine later this month.

The Church of the Nazarene will host the event, with all proceeds going to the Snack Youth Cafe.

Entry costs £5 and everyone who attends will be made welcome.

Egg hunt

YOUNGSTERS can get ‘egg-cited’ about an Easter egg hunt in Kilbarchan.

Organised by the Weaver’s Cottage Support Group, this event promises to be a hit with families.

It takes place on Sunday, from 2pm to 4pm.

To join in the fun, go along to the Weaver’s Cottage.

Gala day

Plans for this year’s Erskine Gala Day are gathering pace.

The big event will be held on Saturday, June 24, with thousands of people expected to take part.

Easter treats

A FUN-FILLED bunny hunt will be taking place at Castle Semple over the Easter weekend.

The entire family can get involved in this self-guided event, which involves going in search of the Easter bunny.

A surprise awaits those who manage to solve the clues and complete the task.

The hunt will take place at the Lochwinnoch centre, in Lochlip Road, on Saturday and Sunday, from 11am to 3.30pm.

Volunteers needed

DO you have a few hours to spare every week?

If so, get in touch with the team at St Vincent’s Hospice, who are looking for more volunteers.

People are needed to help out at the Howwood-based hospice, including its tearoom, and at charity shops and fundraising events across Renfrewshire.

Not only will volunteers be helping a great cause, they will also be eligible for discounted gym memberships and discounts in local businesses.

Have a heart

FREE ‘heart start’ courses will be made available in Lochwinnoch and Howwood over the coming weeks.

The sessions are free of charge and it only takes two hours to learn the skills which could save a life.

Those attending will learn the recovery position, CPR and using an automated external defibrillator (AED).

There will also be information on heart attacks, choking and serious bleeding.

The next session will take place at the Masonic Hall in Lochwinnoch on Wednesday, April 12, from 7pm to 9pm.

In Howwood, a class will run at the Railway Inn on Tuesday, May 9, from 7pm to 9pm.

A further session will be staged at the Masonic Hall in Lochwinnoch on Wednesday, June 14, from 7pm to 9pm.

Cracking fun

QUARRIERS will be running an egg hunt in the village during the Easter break.

Little ones can go searching for treats by collecting clues and solving puzzles.

It costs £3 to take part and entry includes a chocolate egg.

A marquee will be set up next to Sommerville Weir Hall, in Faith Avenue, on Saturday, from 10am to 2pm.

Making a splash

SAILING enthusiasts can get on board for a yachting event at Lochwinnoch’s Castle Semple Visitor Centre.

Staff will host their Sailability Spring Regatta on Saturday and Sunday.

There will be accessible sailing boats available on the first day and racing will take place on Sunday, both from 10.30am to 4pm.

Going wild

A HOST of activities with a wildlife theme will take place at the RSPB nature reserve in Lochwinnoch on Easter Monday.

These will include egg decorating, a treasure hunt and face painting.

No booking is necessary and it costs £6 per child, with young members of the RSPB paying just £3. Adults go free.

The fun takes place from noon until 3pm and everyone is welcome to go along.

ORGANISERS of a breakfast club for men are on the lookout for new guests.

The gatherings take place at Erskine Baptist Church on Fridays, from 9.30am to 12.30pm.

Those who go along can enjoy a breakfast roll and some tea or coffee before taking part in a game of table tennis or pool or simply enjoying a chat with others.

Twinkle toes

LOOK out your dancing shoes for the Bishopton Belles line dancing class.

Newbies and those looking to improve on existing skills can go along to the sessions, which are held every Tuesday.
