MEMBERS of Kilmacolm Camera Club were snap happy in 2007 as they staged their annual prizegiving ceremony.

The main prize was an honorary presidency given to Betty Main, who had been a member of the club since 1952.

Bob Armstrong, camera club chairman, said: “We were pleased to give Betty the honourary presidency as she has been a member for such a long time.

“She is certainly a colourful character and was a Brain of Britain semi-finalist.”

Among the other winners at the event were club members Bill Ham, Billy Pickett and David Walker.

Bill’s snaps had appeared in the Amateur Photographer magazine and he also had work exhibited in Princes Square, in Glasgow.

Having previously won several Scottish photography prizes and sold a number of pieces of his work to raise money for charity, Bill was no stranger to success.

Mr Armstrong said: “Bill Ham is a well-known photographer, especially around here, and usually wins all of the prizes but, this year, some others managed to win.”
