PRANKSTERS have been causing a stir online, attempting to “sell” Johnstone High School on Gumtree for a fiver.
The advert was listed on the classifieds website on Thursday evening, offering to sell a “large detached house” on Beith Road for £5.
Attached with the advert was a picture of Johnstone High School and a description of the building.
It said: “For sale is a large detached mansion situated on the Beith Road in Johnstone.
“Constructed in 1965, the house sits amongst generously sized gardens complete with an AstroTurf football pitch and pool. The property has a long driveway and adequate off street parking.”

The advert continued: “Recently redecorated in 2011, the interior walls and flooring incorporate various shades of ‘council purple’.
“The house has more than 100 bedrooms, several kitchens, dining hall, his and hers bathrooms, library and a grand hall.
“Local amenities include Orlando's fish restaurant and Emzed's grocers. Transport links are excellent with daily buses to and from Howwood, Lochwinnoch and Kilbarchan.”
Anyone interested in purchasing the property was prompted to call a telephone number, later discovered to be the school’s reception, and “ask for Graham or Lynne”.
