THE sky is the limit for a group of daredevils hoping to raise funds and awareness of a debilitating illness.

Six women from Lochwinnoch and Bridge of Weir will be taking the plunge at a sponsored skydive to raise cash for the Muscular Dystrophy (MD) charity.

The cause is close to them as good friend Mairi Leitch, 34, of Lochwinnoch, and her brave 10-year-old son Aaron are affected by the disease.

Aaron, who attends Lochwinnoch Primary, was diagnosed with MD two years ago after suffering from issues at a young age.

Symptoms include cramps, sore muscles and pain in his legs and arms, however the worst part is the fatigue, according to Mairi.

Friends and family taking part in the skydive are Johan Clark, Karen Webber, Samantha Barbour, Donna Barbour, Leigh McKeller and Katrina Morrow.

The next Lochwinnoch Charity Yard Sale will raise cash for the group to take part in the sponsored sky dive, and runs from 11am to 2pm at the Heritage Farmers Market Shop, Lochwinnoch.

Mairi also held a Move A Mile For Muscles sponsored walk at Castle Semple Loch in Lochwinnoch last year which enjoyed great success and will take place again this year.
