A large diesel spillage has caused an Erskine road to close this morning.
Police were called to Mains Drive in the town after it was reported that cars were skidding on the road.
The spill goes all the way down Mains Drive from the top of the hill then to New Shot Drive towards Morrisons.
Renfrewshire Council's road department are currently clearing the spillage and diverting traffic near the roundabout.
Drivers say grit was put down on the road but it is still slippy.
A police spokesman said: "There were reporting of cars skidding on Mains Drive in Erskine.
"There have been no accidents reported yet.
"The council have been down to clean the area and put signage up.
"We are not sure yet how the diesel got on the road."
