THE body of a 22 year-old man has been found in Alexandria.

Police confirmed the discovery following a call to a property in King Edward Street on Sunday night.

It’s not clear the circumstances surrounding the man’s death and his identity has not yet been released.

Police are treating the man’s death as “unexplained”.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “Around 10.45pm on Sunday, June 18, police received a report of the body of a 22-year-old man having been discovered within a property in King Edward Street, Alexandria.

“A post mortem examination will take place in due course to establish the exact cause of death which officers are treating as unexplained at this time.”

A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
