THERE was a commotion at the Big Adventure, in Linwood, when the police turned up in 2003.
But children and parents were thrilled when the police officer in question turned out to be PC Plum, from hit children’s television series Balamory.
Actor Andrew Agnew, from Johnstone, was more than delighted to spend time with his army of adoring fans after the Gazette held a competition for local children to meet him.
And it wasn’t just the young ones who were excited at meeting their hero.
When PC Plum made his entrance, some of the mums and dads in attendance rushed over to greet him first.
One grandmother said: “The programme is so popular. I sit with my grandson and we watch it together and he loves it.
“People even take trips up to Tobermory to see where it is filmed.”
Owner of the Big Adventure, Denise Hussain, added: “The children seemed to really enjoy themselves.
“It was a great experience for them to meet PC Plum.
“We do have a footballer or two bringing their children here but I have to thank the Gazette for organising our very first celebrity visit.”
