A VILE troll who was jailed for mocking Madeleine McCann and tragic toddler Mikaeel Kular in online rants has been spared prison for threatening to rape children.

Jamie Milligan was jailed in 2015 for sick comments he made on Facebook.

But the 27-year-old, of Kilnside Road, Paisley, has now avoided another prison term for threatening to sexually abuse other youngsters.

Milligan was heard to unleash a barrage of insults in the town’s Springbank Road on April 10, 2014.

He bawled: “I’ll batter f*** oot my maw. I’ll rape the weans, I’m gonna rape the f****** weans.”

Milligan previously pleaded guilty to a charge of behaving in a threatening or abusive manner, likely to cause a reasonable person to suffer fear or alarm, by shouting the comments.

Last June, sentence was deferred for a year for Milligan to stay out of trouble.

And, when he returned to the dock at Paisley Sheriff Court to learn his fate, he was allowed to leave the building as a free man.

Defence solicitor Gordon Nicol said: “Sentence was deferred from June 16 last year to enable him to be of good behaviour and co-operate with the Richmond Fellowship.

“His father also tells me the Richmond Fellowship come in to their home three times a day, working with him, and he regards that as absolutely perfect.

“He feels his son is making progress. He doesn’t think he’ll be anything other than requiring a degree of assistance.”

Sheriff James Spy could have caged Milligan for as long as 12 months for the offence but opted to admonish him instead.

He told the accused: “You’ve kept yourself out of trouble, that’s great. You’re working with the Richmond Fellowship, that’s good.”

The Richmond Fellowship Scotland is an organisation providing services and support for mental health, learning disabilities, dementia and alcohol addiction, and they work with Milligan as he suffers from Asperger’s Syndrome - a form of autism.

Milligan was jailed in August 2015 for his Facebook comments about tragic youngsters Madeleine and Mikaeel.

On his page, which was open to members of the public to view, Milligan wrote: “To the wee boy that died - get it up ye ya wee p***, I woulda done the same if I had a kid haha yas.”

Milligan also posted sickening comments about missing youngster Madeline.

He posted the offensive remarks on January 17, 2014, while police and the public were still searching for three-year-old Mikaeel.

The toddler had been murdered by his mother, Rosdeep Adekoya, and was missing at the time.

On January 18 - the day after Milligan’s rants - Mikaeel’s body was found.

His mum was later jailed for 11 years for beating him to death, hiding his body in a suitcase and burying him in woodland in Fife before reporting him missing from their home in Edinburgh.
