TWO cousins whose dads were cared for at St Vincent’s Hospice have staged a series of events to support the charity.

Sharon and Linda Davis gathered a group of friends together to climb Ben Nevis and also organised a fundraising night at Lochwinnoch Bowling Club.

Some online raffles added to the total, which reached more than £6,000.

And the dynamic duo were delighted to hand over a bumper cheque to the Howwood-based hospice.

Sharon said: “We thought it would be a great way for us to give something back and show our heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to all the amazing doctors and nurses in the hospice for the care and support they provided to both our dads, and to ourselves and our families, during those difficult times.”

Laura McDade, fundraiser at St Vincent’s Hospice, added: “On behalf of all at the hospice, we can’t thank Linda, Sharon and everyone who kindly sponsored their efforts enough.

“This is an incredible sum of money and it will go to such good use supporting those affected with life-limiting illnesses in the Renfrewshire area.”
