RENFREWSHIRE residents are being urged to have their say on the priorities for their community.

Community planning conferences will be staged in Johnstone, Renfrew and Paisley in the coming weeks, as well as outreach events in Langbank, Erskine, Lochwinnoch and Linwood.

The aim is to seek views on what should be included in a new community plan for Renfrewshire.

People can get involved by going along to Renfrew Town Hall on Monday, June 26, between 10.30am and 2.30pm or 5.30pm and 8.30pm.

Johnstone Town Hall will host community planning events on Wednesday, June 28, from 5.30pm to 8.30pm, and Friday, July 7, from 10.30am to 2.30pm.

And there will be further sessions at Paisley Town Hall on Tuesday, July 4, from 10.30am to 2.30pm and 5.30pm to 8.30pm.

There will also be outreach events at Langbank Parish Church on Tuesday, July 11, from 9am to 1pm, and Erskine Sports Centre later that day, from 2pm to 5pm.

Alternatively, on Wednesday, July 12, residents can head along to the McKillop Institute, in Lochwinnoch, from 9am to 1pm or the Tweedie Hall, in Linwood, from 2pm to 5pm.

Delegates will be asked to take part in interactive workshops, hear from speakers and take part in a customer service survey for Renfrewshire Council.

Councillor Iain Nicolson, leader of Renfrewshire Council, said: “At the heart of community planning is the people who live and invest in our communities.

“I would encourage all residents to come along to their local community planning event and put forward their view on what the priorities and vision for Renfrewshire should be.

“These events put decisions of what happens in local communities in the hands of the people who are most likely to benefit and their views will shape the new community plan called Our Renfrewshire.”

Anyone who would like to attend can sign up by calling 0141 618 4168 (9.30am to 4.00pm, Monday to Friday) or by emailing communityplanning@renfrewshire.gov.uk.
