SOME of Scotland’s most talented musicians will be in action at the Paisley Pipe Band Competition on Saturday.

Thousands of spectators from across Renfrewshire, East Renfrewshire and beyond are expected to watch the bands as they parade from the town’s High Street to the main competition arena in County Square.

Once there, experts from the Royal Scottish Pipe Band Association’s West of Scotland branch will judge the bands on their performances across the various grades.

The event gets under way at 10.30am, with a march past being staged at 4.30pm, before the massed bands gather at 5.30pm for the prize-giving ceremony with the Chieftain.
