A WRESTLER from Johnstone was looking forward to getting to grips with his latest opponent in 2007.

Abraxas, aka Owen Duffy, had home advantage for the pro-wrestling showdown at Johnstone Town Hall.

He was up against bad guy Eric Canyon, who in true wrestling fashion was doing his best to noise up the crowd.

And Abraxas, who was appearing alongside some top wrestling talent in the No Regrets show, was confident of victory.

At the time, he said: “I grew up in Johnstone and I can’t wait to compete in front of my home town crowd.

“I started training at the SWA’s Area 52 Training Facility in Linwood about two years ago.

“I graduated onto the SWA and NXT roster as one of SWA Commissioner Draevyn’s bodyguards.

“I’ve had matches in venues around Scotland against opponents including Chris Renfrew, Damian O’Connor, ‘The Butcher’ Scott Renwick, Cage Tyler and Johnny Darko.

“My long-term goal is to capture the SWA Tag Team Championships, along with my tag team partner Kolobos.”
