TWINKLE-TOED kids added a bit of sparkle to their weekend at a family fun day run by a Renfrew dance academy.

Glitter tattoos, face paint, balloon modelling and a bouncy castle were among the attractions at the event hosted by Karen E Moir Dance and Drama.

A soft toy stall, a tombola, various games and a selection of home-baked treats were also highlights of the day.

As well as current dance students being in attendance, there was also information for those who wished to sign up for classes starting this term.

Dance school owner Karen Moir said: “We had a fantastic time at our family fun day and I can’t wait for classes to begin again.

“I would like to thank everyone who helped us out, especially the mums who made some of the most delicious cupcakes in the world for our home-baking stall.

“Thanks also go to Balloons About Town, Lorna from Face Paint Parties, Ace Bouncy Castles and Laura Lollipops Candy Cart for their support.”

The fun day was organised to raise cash for the academy’s next dance show, which is set to take place during the festive season.

A total of £500 was raised and this will help to pay for hall hire and new equipment, including microphones.

Karen is also looking forward to staging a Hallowe’en party, with 200 people attending last year’s event.

She added: “I have the best second family anyone could ask for.

“My students never fail to put a smile on my face when I need it the most.”
