THE Accord Rainbow Ramble 3K came back to Paisley with a colourful bang.

More than 300 supporters took part in the annual event at Ferguslie Park Gardens, where they ran, walked or hopped along the route.

Participants started the event in a pristine white T-shirt which gradually took on the colours of the rainbow as they were showered in a kaleidoscope of powdered paints as they passed each colour station.

A Paisley DJ and Zumba instructor warm up from ‘Moving and Giving’ got the blood pumping and everyone was ready to go for the family fun run.

More than £4,000 has already been raised from the event through online giving and more will come in during the next few weeks.

David McFadden, senior fundraiser for ACCORD, told the Paisley People: “We are absolutely delighted by the involvement of the community with many individuals and companies getting involved in the big day.

“We would also like to thank the many Hospice volunteers who came down to help on the day, along with volunteers from Beaverbrooks Silverburn and a huge thank you to the Paisley Abbey Scouts for all their hard work on the day. The funds raised from the event will allow ACCORD Hospice to continue to provide first class palliative and end of life care in Renfrewshire; and we can’t thank everyone enough for all their efforts.”
