THIEVES made off after a failed attempt to break into Arthurlie Social Club.
The crooks were forced to flee when they were unable to force their way into the venue, in Ralston Road, Barrhead, in the early hours of Saturday morning.
Although nothing was stolen from the club, an alarm was activated when a rear fire door was opened.
Police have asked any members of the public who may have noticed anything suspicious in the area between 12.30am and 1.20am to call 101.
