YOUNGSTERS can get into the festive spirit early by designing a Christmas card and be in with a chance of switching on the lights in Johnstone, Paisley and Renfrew as part of the bargain.
Primary pupils need to hand designs into a Renfrewshire library or school by Monday, October 23, to be in with a chance.
The lights will be switched on in Paisley on Saturday, November 18, with Renfrew’s turn the following Saturday, November 25.
It will then be lights up in Johnstone on Saturday, December 2.
Renfrewshire Provost Lorraine Cameron told The Gazette: “It’s almost the most wonderful time of year again and we want young people to have the opportunity to design a Christmas card and they will have the chance to switch on the lights in Paisley, Johnstone or Renfrew.
“Good luck to everyone.”
