A YELLOW weather warning remains in place for Renfrewshire tomorrow.

Hurricane Ophelia is due to be downgraded to a storm at around 1am and is expected to ease as the day progresses.

The warning is expected to be dropped at around 3pm.

The MET Office website states: "A spell of very windy weather is likely on Tuesday in association with ex-Ophelia.

"Road, rail, air and ferry services might be affected, with longer journeys times likely, and some roads and bridges could close.

"Power cuts may occur, with the potential to affect other services, such as mobile phone coverage.

"Some damage to buildings such as tiles blown from roofs, could happen"

Rail delays were experienced throughout the country today with more expected during tomorrow morning's rush hour.

ScotRail took to their website to ask residents for their help in minimising disruption.

It said: "We have some windy weather forecast that will cause disruption to parts of Scotland.

"We have introduced a temporary timetable to some service areas to keep you moving during this adverse weather. "Please check before you travel and we will keep you updated here, at the station, on twitter (@Scotrail) and on our website of any issues that's would affect your journey. All service alterations are listed on the lists below.

"Our rapid response and chainsaw teams will be where they are most likely to be needed, to keep trains running and you on the move.

"If you do live next to our tracks please secure any garden items that could blow away."
