A MAN is facing trial accused of being caught with a knife and drugs.
John Paul Francis Weldon is said to have been caught with the illegal items in St Mirren Street, Paisley, on June 28 this year.
Prosecutors claim he had a locking knife on him, in breach of the Criminal Law (Consolidation) (Scotland) Act 1995, and also breached the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971 by possessing heroin.
Weldon, 31, pleaded not guilty during a pre-trial hearing at Paisley Sheriff Court and the case was adjourned until Monday, November 6, for a trial to begin.
