YOUNG people from Renfrewshire and East Renfrewshire had some frightfully-good fun as they took part in a special event.

Michael Inglis, 12, Rachel McGhee, 16, and 22-year-old Michelle Latter were invited on a tour of the Edinburgh Dungeon to celebrate the Young Scot Rewards scheme reaching 100,000 users.

A record number of 11 to 26-year-olds have accessed the digital programme through the Young Scot National Entitlement Card.

Rachel, from Johnstone, said: “I am a great fan of Young Scot Rewards as it gives you so many opportunities.

“I did an abseil for Chest, Heart and Stroke Scotland through the rewards programme and I would urge others to sign up.”

Michael, from Clarkston, added: “I have been attending a weekly coding club which has improved my technical skills and increased my confidence.”

And Michelle, from Newton Mearns, said: “I love Young Scot Rewards because it allows me to find out about so many different things while earning points that I can trade in for amazing prizes.”
