CHRISTMAS will arrive early in Johnstone this weekend as the town hall hosts its first-ever festive arts and crafts fair.

On Saturday and Sunday between 11am and 4pm there will be more than 30 stalls to enjoy featuring handmade clocks, soya candles, embroidery, jewllery, papercraft, stained glass and unusual gifts and decorations.

On Sunday there will also be a free fun day featuring a Santa's Grotto, treasure hunt for Santa's missing elves and decorating ginerbread men biscuits.

The free event is being organised by Renfrewshire Leisure.

Chief Executive Joyce McKellar said: “This is a great way for all the family to get in the festive mood and grab themselves some unusual and handmade presents for Christmas.

“It’s the first time we’ve organised a Festive Arts and Crafts Fair and because of this Santa has promised to pay us a special visit.”
