A PAISLEY teenager has landed one of the top positions a cadet can achieve in the county.
Liam McKenzie, from the Paisley Army Cadets, has been named as the Lord-Lieutenant’s Cadet.
The 17-year-old received the accloade from Lord-Lieutenant of Renfrewshire, Guy Clark, at the Greenock Air Cadets show last month.
This role means Liam, who will be the cadet for all Renfrewshire and East Renfrewshire, will escort The Queen’s representative at events for the next 12 months.
Senior officers David Wilson and Linda Green, from the Paisley Army Cadets, were at the ceremony to see Liam presented with his award.
Linda said: “It is a great achievement and Liam will be a very good ambassador.
“All of us at the Paisley cadets are very proud of Liam and wish him the best in his role.”
