A TEENAGER is facing trial accused of battering a man so badly that he fell unconscious and was left scarred for life.
The 16-year-old, who can’t be named for legal reasons, is said to have assaulted Christopher McNeilly in Gilmour Street, Paisley, last March.
The teen, who was just 15 at the time of the alleged assault, is accused of raining punches on Mr McNeilly’s head, causing him to fall to the ground, hit his head off the pavement and fall unconscious.
Prosecutors claim the alleged attack left Mr McNeilly badly injured and scarred for life.
The youngster, of Dalry, Ayrshire, denied the single charge of assault when he appeared in the dock at Paisley Sheriff Court last week and a further pre-trial hearing was scheduled for January.
