Snow showers and freezing temperatures look set to extend into the weekend as people recover from the aftermath of the red weather warning covering the area.
Several inches of the white stuff has brought much of Renfrewshire and East Renfrewshire to a standstill, with only emergency services and some healthcare providers still operating.
Weather forecasts do not make for promising reading, with flurries of snow likely to continue later today and into Saturday and Sunday.
While the Met Office's red weather warning for snow has now lapsed, an amber warning, as well as yellow snow warnings, are still in place.
Really important to stress this. Red and Amber are in place. The severe amber doesn't finish until 6pm today and the advice remains not to travel unless absolutely unavoidable.

Forecasters are currently predicting snow to continue into this afternoon, before making way for cold and dry spells on Thursday night and Friday.
Snow showers are thought to be returning on Friday evening and Saturday, before the freezing temperatures relent on Sunday, bringing with it sleet and rain.
It is also likely to be extremely cold today and tomorrow.
Lows of -3°c are expected that could feel as cold as -10°c with strong winds and snow flurries.
