A new cafe is set to open its doors in Renfrew this month - and it's bringing something new to the table.

Taking over a unit in High Street, Caffe Grande will be bringing a wide range of the finest azzurro coffees from local entrepreneur Mario Formisano and serving artisan ciabattas and light lunches.

The new venue has taken a while to refurbish but the owners are now excited to bring something new and healthy to the area.

Boasting a menu filled with only fresh ingredients from local suppliers, Caffe Grande will be focusing on healthy meals and educating children on the right things to eat.

Chef and owner, Cara Roberts, who also owns a cafe in Strathblane near Loch Lomond, said: "All going well we are hoping to open on Monday.

"Our main focus is going to be our healthy meals range.

"With Trinity High School just round the corner and Renfrew High a stone's throw away, our main aim is to target the younger generation and educate them on healthy alternatives."

As an award-winning chef with 15 years experience, Cara is hoping that the healthy options will be a success with locals.

She continued: "Myself and my team work tirelessly perfecting what we do, throughout all our units, ensuring that not only is it good for you, it tastes amazing too!

"We feel Renfrew is ready for us to bring something different to the market. For the kids, parents and grandparents alike."

Caffe Grande is set to open on Monday May 21.
