DRIVERS in Paisley are being warned about roadworks taking place for the remainder of the year to enable work on Scottish Water's environmental investment project to continue.

The next stage of work begins on Thursday and is expected to last eight months.

Scottish Water contractors Amey are constructing the large interceptor sewer in Paisley which, once completed, will reduce the frequency of spills from the sewer network into the Espedair Burn and White Cart Water in storm conditions.

Rowan Street will be closed between Espedair Street and Rowan Wynd and parking restrictions will be in place.

Local access to Duke Street will be maintained westbound along Rowan Street and local access to Lylesland Court will be maintained eastbound along Rowan Street.

Pedestrian access along Rowan Street will not be affected.
