A DOG walker was taken to hospital after being hit by a bus in Paisley yesterday.
The 45-year-old man, who sustained injuries to his leg and head, and his pet were struck near roadworks in Glasgow Road just after 1pm.
It is understood the dog was also injured and was taken to a vet.
A McGill’s bus was badly damaged in the incident and the firm have said the accident is under investigation.
A spokeswoman for McGill’s said: "We confirm that one of our vehicles was involved in a road traffic incident on Glasgow Road.
"This is currently under investigation and we are working in conjunction with Police Scotland on this.
"CCTV footage from the bus has been viewed and Police Scotland have not charged anyone involved.”
A Police Scotland spokesman said: "We were called to reports of a road traffic collision at the junction of Glasgow Road and Penilee Road in Paisley at 1.10pm.
"A 45-year-old man was injured after a collision with a bus. Police and paramedics attended and the man was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.
"The man sustained injuries to his leg and head."
