TWO people have been arrested after the seizure of around 4,000 ecstasy tablets by Border Force officials led to the search of premises in Paisley.
National Crime Agency (NCA) officers, supported by Police Scotland, searched the buildings in both Barrhead and Paisley on Tuesday.
It is believed that the pills would have a street value of around £40,000.
This joint operation relates to the criminal exploitation of the postal service to import controlled drugs into the United Kingdom.
The pair who were arrested were later released while investigations continue.
NCA senior investigating officer John McGowan said: “If sold on the streets of Scotland the drugs would have had an estimated value of around £40,000.
"Working with our law enforcement partners we are determined to do all we can to disrupt the criminal networks involved in drug importation and supply."
