Police are looking for witnesses after a 33-year-old man was killed in a road crash in Paisley.

At around 5.45pm on Sunday (June 10), the man was riding his Suzuki GSXR 750 motorcycle northbound on Penilee Road, when it was involved in a collision with a Fiat 500.

The car, which was being driven by a 57-year-old man was heading southbound at the time of the crash.

Emergency services attended, however the motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.

The deceased has since been named as as Brian Crossan from Blantyre.  

The driver of the Fiat 500 and his 59 year-old female passenger were uninjured.

The road was closed while a full investigation was carried out at the scene.

A full report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.

Sergeant Kenneth Malaney of the Divisional Road Policing Unit based at Greenock Police Office is appealing for any further witnesses. 

He said:  “I would appeal to any witnesses to this crash who have not yet spoken to police to please come forward. 

"I would also like to speak to anyone who was driving on that road around the time of the crash, and anyone with dash cam footage that may assist our investigation to contact the Divisional Road Policing Unit at Greenock Police Office through 101 quoting reference number 3374 of 10th June.”
