Two men have appeared in court charged with dealing drugs from a house in Howwood.

Eric Reid, 45, and Mark Reid, 27, appeared in the dock at Paisley Sheriff Court last week to face a single charge under the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971.

Prosecutors claim the pair were concerned in the supply of etizolam – a former legal high that is often sold as Valium and is now a class C drug – at a property in Earlshill Drive on March 15.

Neither man made a plea and they were both released on bail by Sheriff Daniel Kelly as the cases against them were continued for prosecutors to investigate further.

They are the fourth and fifth people to be charged over the Howwood raid, which is said to have led to drugs worth £400,000 being seized.

In March, Paolo Nutini impersonator Jamie King McArthur, who goes by the name Paolo Martini on stage and lives in Earlshill Drive, also appeared in the dock over the case, alongside girlfriend Allana Morton and Jamie Woods, of Kirkinner Place, Bridge of Weir.

McArthur, 27, Morton, 27, and Woods, 29, all made no plea during their first hearing, where Woods was remanded in custody and McArthur and Morton were released on bail.
