Dance fever gripped Erskine as it hosted a talent competition.

Entrants from across the town wowed guests at the annual Talent Quest event and, at the same time, helped to raise money for worthy causes.

Around 50 children of all ages from local groups DancExcel, Karen Maciver Dance and House of Dance took part, with plenty of entertainment on offer.

The event was led by nine-year-old Amber Marshall, who currently holds the title of Miss Natural Beauty Scotland and has raised more than £3,000 for charities.

Among those to benefit from this year’s Talent Quest was Team Mila, which helps to fund research into Cystic Fibrosis.

Also being supported was Abbie’s Army, which funds research into brain cancer affecting children.

Emma Marshall, who runs DancExcel, said: “We managed to raise £1,000 on the day and this will be split, with £500 going to Team Mila and £500 going to Abbie’s Army.

“We had over 100 people attend this event and it was such an enjoyable day, with local dance schools coming together to raise funds for worthy charities.

“We had coach Dael McPhillips, from DancExcel, and Karen Maciver, from Karen Maciver Dance, as judges. They gave up their time to come along and be part of the event.

“Amber would like to thank all the children from DancExcel and Karen Maciver Dance and we can’t wait for the next event."
