Members of the Renfrew Sea Scouts pitched in for some fun as they staged their annual summer camp.

The event took place in Millport, on the island of Cumbrae, where the group enjoyed glorious sunshine and ideal sailing conditions.

It proved to be a week to remember for the youngsters and adult volunteers, with a whole host of activities on offer to keep them entertained.

Although coming under the Scouting banner, the Sea Scouts differ as most of their activities take place on the water.

And all of the group’s marine expertise was on show, with sailing and fishing just two of the activities enjoyed by the 20 Scouts and 10 leaders who attended camp.

There was also a specially-arranged spa night, with various treatments on offer, as well as a parents’ night, where the kids were joined by their mums and dads for traditional games.

David Ross, spokesman for the Renfrew Sea Scouts, said: “To be able to turn up to a Scouting Camp Week and have such good weather was really superb.

“We also want to say thank-you to Tesco in Renfrew, who gave us funds for the tents.

“We couldn’t have done it without them.

“The camp week is for the kids and we really enjoy seeing how much fun they have but that doesn’t mean the leaders don’t have as much fun as they do.

“It was a really great week for everyone involved.”
